The FH-MX60 was an anodized finish in silver, gold, red or blue. The FH-MX40 came in either a buff finish or painted gold, red or blue.

  • March 1979 - BMX Action reviews the Shimano MX Freehub as one of it's hot new products of the month. Referenced as a component of the 1979 Team JAG BMX in the BMX Action Official Test. 
  • March 1979 to September 1979 - Featured in the Shimano MX Advertisement, "You've got to be quick in the pits to be fast on the track" ~ Bobby Encinas in BMX Action and BMX Plus!
