Grab On MX-2 Grips grips came with three foam sleeve options.

• Comp I - Standard hard and durable foam
• Comp II - New style foam that was thicker and softer for riding
• Comp III - Thick and firm foam designed after the MX-1

Grab On MX1 Grips were made of a very durable black foam which resists breakdown and absorbs the vibrations of riding around a BMX track.

• March 1979 - Grab On MX1 Grips advertisement, 2 Good Reasons To Buy MX-1 Racing Grips, is featured in BMX Action.
• May 1979 - Grab On MX1 Grips Advertisement, Bobby Encinas Wins Number One Plate..., is featured in BMX Action.
• June 1979 to October 1979 - Grab On runs a comic strip, Episodes of the GRAB On Kid, advertisement in BMX Action.
• October 1979 - Featured as a current product in the Spencer's Worldwide BMX Mail Order Service advertisement printed in BMX Action.
