Old School BMX Parts

The Kashimax Areo Seat was made from Nylon 6 and weighs only 440 grams including the seat guts. The seat has a NJS stamp under the shell, which means it was OK to use in pro track racing in Japan.

Available in blue, red, yellow and black.

The saddle was re-released in December 2008, due to high demand from the track bike crowd.

Taihei was a factory that produced a full range of bicycle seats and also bags and other consumer products produced from vinyls. Founded by Katsuhiko `KATCHAN` Kitaguchi, the company flourished because of Katchan`s terrific personality, his never tiring hard work, and the ability of his employees to produce high quality products in a timely manner.

Taihei was famous in the BMX segment for the Elina Seats.

• March 1979 - BMX Action releases news that the Taihei Saddle Co., the company that manufactured the Suzuki/Maytex Seat, would be releasing the same seat minus the padding.
  Everything Bicycles Advertisement, BMX Trick Stuff - We Can Handle It!, that runs in BMX Action features the Taihei BMX Seat as part of the current product line.
• June 1979 to August 1979 - Featured as a current product in the Everything Bicycles full page advertisement, Mr. Dealer - Your One Stop BMX Supplier. This advertisement is printed in BMX Action.
• September 1979 - Featured as a current product in the Everything Bicycles double page advertisement printed in BMX Action.

The Kashimax MX Seat featured factory-drilled holes to reduce weight and provide ventilation. It came in blue, black, red and yellow.

The Kashimax Seat Post Clamp was designed and developed to avoid protrusion of the seat post through the saddle. The 1979 advertisement has "PAT.P K.S.M" stamped on it.

Styles

The Kashimax BMX Seat came in three styles:

• MXC-2H - Contains 2 ventilation holes and is available in blue, red, yellow and black.
• MXC-20H - Contains 20 ventilation holes and is available in blue, red, yellow and black.
• MXC-36H - Contains 36 ventilation holes and is available in blue, red, yellow and black.

• Aero Safety Clamp - uses a hex bolt to tighten the clamp around the seat post.
• Standard Safety Clamp - uses nuts and a bolt to tighten the clamp around the seat post.

• December 1978 - BMX Action features the Kashimax MX Seat as part of the 1978 BMX Equipment Buyer's Guide.
• May 1979 to October 1979 - Kashimax BMX Seat advertisement features in BMX Action.
• May 1979 to August 1980 - Kashimax MX Seat advertisement features in BMX Plus!

Created by Berg Designs and weighs less than half the weight of a regular seat.

• December 1978 - BMX Action features the Berg Uni-Seat as part of the 1978 BMX Equipment Buyer's Guide.

Troxel MX Seats are moulded as a single piece. The only metal component is the seat guts. These are later advertised as the Trackmaster Seats.

Available in blue, yellow, black, clear and red.
